The leaders of BCA participated in the 2008 China Charity Development Forum and visited Chongqing Charity Association

      From November 2^nd to 3^rd, the 2008 China Charity Development Forum was held in Chongqing. The executive vice chairperson of BCA Zhu Rongxian attended the forum and gave a speech. There were more than 300 specialists, charitable staffs and social lover participating the forum.

      Wang Zhenyao, who is the director of the social welfare and charitable business, and Zheng Gongcheng, who is the professor of Renmin University of China, made the related reports. In Wang Zhenyao’s report, he pointed out the defect of charitable system, the necessity of the social overall planning, the three digital indicators on building public welfare times, the basic concepts of charitable business and so on. In Zheng Gongcheng’s report, he pointed out three key issues that effected the development of China charitable business. The issues included the weak sense of charity, the lack of related laws and the immature of charitable system. He thought the ideal Chinese charity should be modern charity, and the purpose was to promote the equality, philanthropy, mutual aid and sharing.

      After the forum, Zhu Rongxian visited the Chongqing Charity Association. The executive vice chairperson Feng Xiuwen introduced their experience on building charitable network, the cooperation with media and the volunteers’ recruitment.
